Can we have a promo/shoutout?: Yes, you can. Just know that I queue my shoutouts, so please don't send me 10,000 when you don't see it posted right away.
Can we have a review?: Yes, you can. Please specify whether you'd like a full, first look or focused (plot, graphics, navigation, admins, etc etc etc). If you don't specify, I will message you back once. If it's still not clear, unfortunately, I can't help you.
Will you follow me?: I go through the roleplay, rp, roleplay help, rph tags frequently, looking for new people to follow. I'll promo you if you're new/your tags don't work yet, but I don't follow people just because they ask. Sorry.
For anything else, please refer to the game rules.
the wannabe does guides: twins edition
There are four common types of twins, and this guide is something I’m putting together to address the different types, as well as tips to being able to properly cast face claims for the different types of twins.
Fraternal twins are the result of two eggs being fertilized by two different sperm that just kinda happen to be chillin’ in utero at the same time. When you’re casting face claims for fraternal twins, you’re basically casting face claims that are about the same age. They can be of different sexes, they can have minor differences in facial structures… You catch my drift?
One egg, one sperm, and then the egg does this thing where it splits…. Whoa! Two kids! Crazy science things. If you’re looking for identical twins, know that you will not have two separate face claims. Let me say that again. You will not have two separate face claims. If you’re going to have identical twins, your best bet is going to be to have that face claim posted twice. Your dash will be confusing, so I would exercise extreme caution before doing this. If anything, I’d stick to using girls as identical twins, that way you could do something where one character is strictly the face claim when they had this color hair and the other another color hair. Or if you’re going to do a guy FC, one character is strictly to use GIFs and pictures with a certain haircut….. See where I’m going here?
Half-Identical or Polar Twins
Apparently this type of twin is pretty rare, but the Olsen twins are an example of Half-Identical twins. Basically what happens here is that the egg split at one point during the science-y stuff (don’t hate me because I didn’t pay attention in sex ed, okay?), and each half was fertilized by a different sperm. Hence, half-identical. They can be of different genders and they can also have different facial structures, so this is another instance to pair up similar looking celebs.
Mirror Image Twins
Mirror Image twins are identical twins that are mirror images of each other. So, if one is left-handed, the other would be right. If one has a birthmark on their right shoulder, the other would have it on their left. This is not a category that I would use for roleplaying unless an admin is taking one of the twins, just because there isn’t really a way to ensure that a player is going to flip any GIFs or images of the faceclaim to actually be a mirror image twin. This is definitely a way to be creative! But again, kinda hard to pull off. And it’s more of a sub-category of an identical twin, but it was something mentioned a lot in the research I did, so I figured I’d post it.
These are just brief descriptions of the different kinds of twins. It definitely goes a lot more in depth than this, and I totally encourage you to do your own research before you include twins in your RP. When played right, twins can be great to any plot! They just….. Well, require a little more planning than some characters.
